GRWM: First Day of School

The first day of school if quickly approaching. If you are looking for some inspiration for your back to school outfit, hair, or makeup, search no further! Here is how I got ready for my first day of school! I will also share the link to my youtube video on this topic. Feel free to check it out!

Skin Care
– The first thing I do when I wake up is wash my face. I used the Cetaphil cleanser in the morning to just remove any dirt that may have settled in the skin overnight. This cleanser does a really great job of getting into the pores and removing any unwanted dirt. Next I applied my moisturizer to hydrate my skin as well as my Mario Badescau Rose Water Spray. This refreshes the skin and gets preps it for the makeup application later.

I chose to put my hair up into a sleeked back pony because I wanted my hair to be out of my face. I also thought this style looked best with the top I chose to wear. In order to do this I straightened the ends of my hair and then used my hair brush to tie the hair back into a pony.

– Next I applied my makeup. I chose to do a easy natural makeup for the sake of time. Here are the products I used to create this makeup look.

Lip Scrub

First I go in with my (completely edible) lip scrub that I made at home. I apply this in order to rehydrate my lips as well as strip away any dead skin that has accumulated on top of the lips. If you would like to see a tutorial or blog on how I made my very own lip scrub for $3, leave a comment down below.

Smashbox Primer Water

I love the application of the primer. I like the concept of having primer in a water for in a genius idea because not only will it prime but I will also hydrate the skin. Highly recommend for dry skin types!

Maybelline MasterConceal Concealer

I apply the smallest amount of this under the eye to cover up any dark circles. I only used a time amount because this concealer is very thick and delivers full coverage. This is the only time I will use the concealer and will not use it to highlight just because I am going for a very natural look.

MAC Waterweight Foundation

I use this foundation for school because it is very lightweight so it does not feel like I have a full face of makeup on throughout the day. This foundation is light to medium coverage however. As a result I apply about 2 layers of it in order to build it up to a medium coverage. I enjoy this foundation because it gives the skin a natural/satin finish as well. The foundation itself is on the watery side but a drop applicator helps with this issue. It also contains 30 SPF which provide protection from the sun throughout the day.

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder

Next I set the entire face with my Laura Mercier Powder just to make sure that the foundation will not budge throughout the day. Tip: Apply this before bronzer to prevent patchiness.

MAC Bronzer

Next I go in with my MAC Bronzer in the shade Refined Golden to give the face a little more dimension. This bronzer is on the warmer side, however I still enjoy how I looks on the skin. Also in the pan the bronzer has some glitter but once applied to the face there is no glitter whatsoever, which I really enjoy. It leaves a nice satin finish to provide you with a natural glow as well.

Tartelette In Bloom Palette

Next I go in with my Tartiest In Bloom palette. I only use the same “Flower Child” as a traction color. This gives the eye a little more dimension and makes it pop more.

Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

Next I go with my my mascara to give my lashes some volume and depth. This mascara works great in targeting both of those areas. I usually go in with 2 coats in order to really darken the lashes and lengthen them.

Urban Decay Setting Spray

Next I spray my Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray. This locks in the makeup in order for it to last all day. This setting spray is one of the best setting sprays I have used in terms of how long it locks in the makeup and how fine the mist is.

NYX Butter Gloss

Lastly I go in my with NYX Butter Gloss in the shade Tiramisu. This just adds some pop to the lips and prevents them from looking dry.

– Lastly I chose my outfit. I wanted an outfit that I would be comfortable in throughout the day as well as something trendy. I chose to pair a black off the shoulder top with some Abercombie and Fitch Jeans.  I also chose to wear my Vans Old Skool shoes because they provide great comfort as well as style. I added my Kendra Scott Pendant to the look as well and my clear prescription glasses which I am absolutely in love with because they are trendy as well as help me with my overall vision. Adding these two items just gave the look some more personality overall.
