Hey y’all! Back to school season is here. And if you’re like me, you’re probably getting ready to hit the mall or the outlet for some back to school shopping. Here are some clothing essentials that are perfect for school. Each of these pieces can be paired with almost anything to create a variety of looks. And the best part is …. most of these essentials are probably already in your closet! Check out my youtube channel where I post a video about how I style each outfit! Bralettes Bralettes a staple in my closet. Not only are they insanely comfortable, but they also ad style to plain pieces such a T-Shirts (as seen in the picture). There are many different styles but I personally enjoy the halter ones because they peek above the shirt more.
I recommend getting several colors and necklines. I personally love the t-shirts from Cotton On because they are very affordable and provide maximum comfort. These shirts are extremely durable and stretchy which allows you to style them a variety of ways. One way to style this
shirt is to tie a knot in the front of the shirt (as seen in the picture). This gives the top a bit more personality as well as turning it into a crop top depending on how much you tie up. These shirts can be paired with many different bottoms as well. I styled this white tee with a pair of distressed jeans. However you can pair these with shorts or even tucked into a jean skirt.
Jeans! Jeans! Jeans! Jeans are an absolute essential item for school. I recommended getting different washes and cuts. I highly recommend Hollister jeans because of the comfort and range of motion they provide. I would wait until the jeans go on sale (which is very often) because they will only be $25!!! I chose to style light washed boyfriend jeans from Hollister with a simple crop top. Boyfriend jeans have a loose fit which gives great air flow and allows the person wearing them to remain cooler.
Athletic shorts are a staple in my wardrobe. They are extremely comfortable which allows me to go through the day ease. I usually pair them with a tee or a crop top to maximize comfort throughout my body. However, you can dress up these shorts if needed. For example, to dress up this pair that bought from Fashion Q I chose to pair them with an off the shoulder top.
Flannels are great if you want to add a little something extra to your look. I tied my flannel around my waist to add some extra spunk to one of the previous looks. Tying the flannel around the waist can also hug it and give the illusion than you have a smaller waist. Flannels are also great because they can be worn on the arms as well. If you begin to get a little chilly in class due to the AC running on high, just go ahead and throw this on as a light jacket. You’ll still look fashionable and keep warm.
T-Shirt dresses are an absolute must if you’re like me and always running late. T-shirt dresses are not only comfortable and stylish but also a item that allows for you to get ready quickly. Just pop one of these on and your good to go. If you don’t care too much for T-shirt dresses because of how flowy they are then try pairing a flannel with it. This will hug your waist more and allow you to show off more of your figure.
I recommend having at least 5 trendy tops that you can mix and match with different bottoms. Off the shoulder is really in right now so I chose to match this bellbottom sleeve off the shoulder top with some demin shorts. The shorts compensated for the long sleeves since it is still summer and the heat is worse than ever. This top however, is made of a thin material which allows for some air flow to hit the body.
Comfortable Shoes Shoes are one of the most important things to help you get through your day with comfort. My dad always tells me “Your shoes and your mattress are the best investments you will ever make”. Having comfortable shoes is a necessity because you are on your feet throughout the day. If you are wearing uncomfortable shoes then you will be absolutely miserable. I usually tend to pair my outfits with some canvas shoes or running shoes. Canvas shoes are great for school because you are off of your feet for part of the day and don’t do much walking from class to class. Running shoes on the other hand are perfect if you’re going to be on your feet more or if you just want some added comfort.
